Add native Kaneo nodes to n8n workflow automation platform

Opendfface (GitHub) · · edited

Problem Statement

Currently, n8n users who self-host Kaneo as their project management tool cannot natively integrate it into their automation workflows. While competing open-source project management tools like Vikunja already have dedicated n8n community nodes (n8n-nodes-vikunja) that provide comprehensive integration with 14+ resources including tasks, projects, labels, teams, and webhook triggers, Kaneo users are left with no equivalent option.

Proposed Solution

Develop and publish an official n8n community node package for Kaneo (e.g., n8n-nodes-kaneo), providing native integration that allows users to seamlessly incorporate Kaneo into their n8n workflows.

Alternative Solutions

None.

Relevant Context

  • n8n is a fair-code licensed workflow automation platform that supports community nodes. Users can install community nodes via Settings → Community Nodes.
  • Vikunja, a direct competitor to Kaneo, already has a mature n8n community node (n8n-nodes-vikunja) with 14 resources, webhook triggers, and AI agent tools. This demonstrates both the feasibility and the demand for such integrations.

Does this feature align with Kaneo's focus on simplicity?

Yes.

Haven't been using n8n as much lately but will look into it! Thank you! (and not thank you spam bots)

Hi — disclosure: I work at viaSocket. This issue asks for n8n nodes. Another route: viaSocket Embed puts 2,300+ app integrations inside Kaneo's own UI, so users automate tasks (e.g. new task → Slack message, Sheets row) without running a separate tool.

I can open a PR in TypeScript: an optional "Integrations" page, off unless env vars are set, plus one backend endpoint to sign the embed token.

Would you accept that? I'll share a demo before writing code if that helps.
