cover images on kanban cards
Problem Statement
Features that really stand out for designers and people working with visuals, are features that work around the content they make or design - they love having images shown at the face of the cards in the kanban view. It also makes the board shine with art and colors. Same for me who mostly do infra related work, screenshots and graphs stand out in the kanban view.
I was not able to find a way to display cover images, and I looked through issues to see if someone had suggested it previously.
Now that Planka has taken a rug pull on the community, I decided to come check out what Kaneo is :)
Proposed Solution
Planka did this very simple. On one of the attachments you could set it as a cover image in the card view.
Alternative Solutions
None I can think of.
Relevant Context
ImageExample from planka, allowing to set image attachments as covers.
Does this feature align with Kaneo's focus on simplicity?
It depends. Simplicity as in the UI? I am not sure - giving users the preference to disable it could be preserving that simplicity.
This feels like a change that could enhance the app while still be simple to use. I understand the simplicity as "not having too many features and take focus away from the important things". From a designers point of view, this would be essential.
Though, it adds more elements to the app, but it also is a feature that brings lots of value to groups of users.
I would love to be able to convince volunteer designers to jump on to Kaneo in the future.
