Time tracking support

Problem Statement
As a developer, I want to track how long it took me to process a task.
Proposed Solution
Add support for a time tracking entry, where you can start, stop and edit a timer, that is running automatically in the background. When you stop the timer, you get the option to resume or save it, the latter will add it to the task duration.
Alternative Solutions
Alternatively, as a simpler solution, allow to add time tracking manually, e.g. via a slash command /spend 2h 10m as e.g. in GitLab.
Does this feature align with Kaneo's focus on simplicity?
Depends on your view regarding this function. But I think, it would be simple.

Hi @MatzeKitt @andrejsshell — I'd like to take this on.
To keep the first version simple, I'd start with the manual entry option you mentioned (e.g. /spend 2h 10m) instead of the full start/stop background timer — smaller, self-contained, and the timer could be a follow-up if there's interest.
Let me know if that scope works, or if you'd rather I go straight for the full timer.

Hi! Any update on this one? Is the scope proposed by @Ranjan-3105 (manual
/spendentries as an MVP, with the background timer as a follow-up) something the maintainers would accept? I'd love to see this land — happy to help with testing.Original GitHub comment
As an addition I think the MVP should also contain adding "Time spend" as an option in the Display option, so that the amount can show up on the task view.

Update on where this stands, because the backend for the manual-entry MVP discussed above has already landed.
On
maintoday:apps/api/src/time-entry/with routes, controllers andduration.tscreate_time_entry,update_time_entry,get_time_entry,list_task_time_entriesapps/web/src/fetchers/time-entry/plus the hooks underhooks/queries/time-entry/andhooks/mutations/time-entry/What is missing is the UI. Nothing imports those hooks and
i18n/en-US.jsonhas no time-tracking keys, so time can be logged through the API and MCP today but not from the app.Re-scoping this issue to the web surface: logging and editing time on the task detail view, the total on the task, and a display option to show time spent on cards as suggested above. The automatic start/stop timer stays a follow-up.
The remaining work is smaller than when it was first picked up, and the API contract is already settled, so it is worth reading the existing hooks before starting.
